Silvester Knez established a private enterperneur company MONTING, Knez Silvester s.p.
1995-1999
Obtaining larger and more complex contracts or projects, thereby capturing important experiences and references for future business
2000
Purchase of land in Spodnja Recica in Lasko, where today the head office of the family business is situated
2001
Start of construction of a production hall of 1.500 m2 surface
2002
Silvester Knez founded a private limited liability company MONTING SK d.o.o., start of production in the new production hall
2003-2005
Commissioning modern technological equipment, purchase of the first CNC machine tool, construction of a new production hall
2006
Start of production in the new production hall of 1.500 m2 surface
2008
Purchase of the first large CNC machine, thereby MONTING SK becomes a company for the production of large and heavy engineering products in the mechanical engineering segment.
MONTING SK won the Zlata Gazela (Golden Gazelle) at the regional selection and the Srebrna Gazela (Silver Gazelle) at the national competition for second best fastest growing company in Slovenia.
2009-2013
A significant investment in machinery and other technological equipment, staff training, introduction of modern ERP system, obtaining ISO 9001 certification
2014-2015
The construction and commencement of production in a new 1,600 m2 facility intended for assembly, storage, and administrative spaces. Purchase of a large 5-axis turning-milling center and the most modern water cutting machine.
2016-2017
In 2016, the construction of the Paintshop facility began, which includes a paint shop and sandblasting chamber. It started operating in 2017. Simultaneously, we actively upgraded our existing IT (software) infrastructure and expanded our fleet with the purchase of a larger delivery vehicle.
2018-2019
Acquisition of the TÜV SÜD certificate, replacing the previous DIN EN ISO 3834-2 and DIN EN 13445 certificates. Continuing with investments in production: purchase of a drilling and milling center (Bohrwerk) Fermat WFT 13 CNC; acquisition of a new sandblasting chamber for exclusively sandblasting stainless materials; purchase of new technology in TIG welding, and several smaller investments in production. Expansion of the dining area and changing rooms for employees has also been completed, along with a connection to the gas pipeline.
2020-2021
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there have been curtailed investments. However, we have made a purchase of a modern industrial 3D printer, with the aim of expanding our offerings in the 3D printing/sintering of metals market. In 2021, we decided to acquire a new front-end forklift and a specialized device for weld cleaning.
2022
Investment in the purchase of the Leica LaserTracker AT960, a 3D spatial laser measurement device for the most precise technical measurements of products up to a size of 20/40m. In September, we also initiated the operation of a small 244kW solar power plant (MFE MONTING SK) and made the first investment in sustainable mobility – the purchase of a company EV (electric vehicle) and the installation of a charging station.
